Indivisible Bemidji members gathered recently for a Summer Celebration & Fall Kick-off event. We shared a meal, won some fun door prizes, and heard from the Leadership Team about various topics, including “VoteFromAbroad” which is a website with all the information needed for any U.S. citizen who lives abroad to be able to vote in the upcoming election. Future events were highlighted, as well as the events of the past year.

August, 2023: Annual Summer Celebration & Fall Kick-off
September 2023: Trygve Throntveit, Director of Strategic Partnerships at the Minnesota Humanities in Saint Paul, spoke on civic discourse at the Bemidji Public Library.
October 2023: We wrote 300 postcards with positive messages for teachers in Bemidji Public Schools.
November 2023: Jail Forum with John Henningsgaard, a citizen representative on the Beltrami County Jail Steering Committee. Discussed tax revenue to address building a new jail. Sheriff Riggs also attended.
January 2024: Blue Letter Event at Paul & Babe Plaza marking the two-year anniversary of the Jan 6, 2021 insurrection. Our “big blue letters” spelled out “JAN 6 NEVER AGAIN!”
January 2024: Jail Tour, as a follow-up to the November Jail Forum.
February 2024: Planned Parenthood Reproductive Rights Forum. We partnered with other Indivisible chapters from northern Minnesota, including Arrowhead Indivisible, Itasca Area Indivisible, and Northern Progressives.
February 2024: JoDee Treat, Beltrami County Auditor’s Office, spoke to the group about the voting process, which is very secure – from townships to counties to state levels. The Secretary of State’s office leads with integrity.
April 2024: Election-year fundraiser party!
April 2024: “Join the Energy Future: Save Money and the Environment,” featuring speaker Brett Cease, Citizens Climate Lobby, Vice President of Programs. Co-sponsored with BSU Office of Sustainability, Climate Change Lobby, and the City of Bemidji Sustainability Commission
April 2024: Headwaters Science Center Earth Day event.
May 2024: Meet & Greet with Jen Schultz who is running for the Congressional District 08 seat.
June 2024: Blue Letter Event “WOMEN KNOW BEST” on the anniversary of the landmark decision by the U.S. Supreme Court that overturned Roe v. Wade.
