The Minnesota Department of Health has a great website full of useful information for community[…]
Health Care Action Team
The Health Care Action Team is dedicated to improving the factual information for voters about Universal Single Payer health care programs as supported by many countries around the world. In addition, we advocate for these programs whenever we are able to make sure that the political representatives are left without any doubt about what this section of their constituency believes would be best for the country.
* Universal Single Payer Health Care would allow for the following:
- Equalize access for all persons to excellent health care thereby reducing social disparities between health care haves and have nots.
- Support small businesses who are unable to provide health care for employees.
- Support negotiating with pharmaceutical companies for reasonable medication pricing.
- Support the timely patient utilization of health care through easy access to eliminate having to treat preventable health problems for citizens who avoided timely health care, for financial reasons.
- Improve population health through rapid access and reduce the financial burden of health care on the federal budget.
Our Team is also in support of the MINNESOTA HEALTH PLAN as authored by Senator John Marty. It is our presumption that health care improvements may have to occur on a state-by-state basis in order to push the Federal conversation about Health Care Reform!
Come to an Indivisible meeting on the first Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM at the Beltrami Electric Meeting room to learn about Action Teams and when and where they meet.

This documentary takes an in-depth look into how our dysfunctional health care system is damaging our economy, suffocating our businesses, discouraging physicians and negatively impacting on the nation’s health, while remaining un-affordable for a third of our citizens.
Big Pharma: Market Failure is a documentary that makes an effective business case for realizable change. It digs deep to answer key questions. How much do pharma companies really spend on research and development of truly innovative drugs? Do “free market” principles impact on drug prices and help control cost? Do the normal rules of business apply to the pharma industry? How do TV ads impact consumers and doctors? Big Pharma: Market Failure proposes a solution that makes business sense for employers and health sense for employees. It is a compelling drama that reveals the truth of pharma cost and what we can do about it.
